The Massachusetts Afterschool Partnership (MAP) Out-of-School Time Story Map depicts the afterschool and out-of-school time landscape in the state of Massachusetts. This map is designed to be used as a tool by legislators, advocates, providers, and families to understand where sites are located, where state and federal funding is being directed, and how this intersects with indicators of child-wellbeing. As we approach a federal funding cliff from ARPA funds, we hope this valuable information can inform strategies for supporting Massachusetts children and youth. Click here to learn more!

STEM PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT: Flying Cloud Institute!

Massachusetts afterschool and summer programs are a key component of supporting the building of STEM identities for children and youth, especially for girls and non-binary youth. By including hands-on activities that support a creative engineering mindset, incorporating role models into programs, engaging parents and families around STEM careers, and centering equity in all aspects, STEAM programs can help prepare the next generation of innovators.

To highlight the great work being done in Massachusetts, Massachusetts Afterschool Partnership partnered with the Flying Cloud Institute to create STEM Spotlight Videos! Learn more about their Makerspace and Girls Science Club programs here!

Making a Difference.

MAP is the only statewide organization dedicated to ensuring all children and youth have access to high quality afterschool programming. In FY2017, MAP was able to develop and strengthen our relationship building and development with essential foundations that allow us to do our work. Advocacy, professional development and technical assistance, communications, policy change, and systems change. The last fiscal year saw an increase in organizational capacity and a budget that allowed us to do more across all initiatives.
